I saw your piece about cycling to work and it made me think about the coverage that has been in the paper on cycling. It is all very pro-cycling which is all well and good, except that it really doesn't address the problem of inconsiderate cyclists who nearly mow me down as they zoom across red lights on pedestrian crossings. Most cyclists seem to think that red lights don't apply to them in general, but it is a particular problem for pedestrians who mistakenly believe that it is safe to cross a pedestrian crossing when there is a green man. In fact one poor colleague of mine was hit by a cyclist and was sent flying, breaking her leg in three places. She had several months off work and the cyclist didn't even stop. Imagine if she had been self employed. She would have lost her livelihood with no recompense against the cyclist, I think therefore that the Standard's cycling charter should include some obligation on cyclists to observe the highway code and be considerate to those around them who are exercising their ecological credentials in other ways - by walking!

Re your article on E Cigarettes,we at Abracadabra/HeyJo club were the first to introduce these revolutionary cigarettes for the 21st Century. We have sold 100s of them in the restaurant and club. You have written many features on us with regard to the smoking ban. This may seem a dichotomy but phone us on 020 7930 3222 & all will become clear. As a "quit smoking device" this product has no rival. Patches (pardon the pun) aren't a "patch" on this. We also sell an E Cigar for the more "macho". The cigarette comes in varying strengths, from the strength you mentioned down to zero. Therefore because of the hand-mouth comfort its guaranteed to help the nicotine addict quit. The E cigarette indicates to the "smoker" if they are overusing it, which is a great help in quitting smoking. We, as the supplier to China Whites obviously are more knowledgeable on this product and its use.Re: nicotine, one filter is the equivalent of 30 cigarettes, therefore it is much lower than the 1.2mg of a normal cigarette. We are in the process of commencing national advertising for this product should you wish a "preview" of its merits, please phone my husband Harry and his partner David West. This is about to become very big news....
